Hiller Austria!

Grüner Veltliner is Austria’s signature white grape, Zweigelt is its most-planted red, and Simone Hiller-Jordan makes beautiful versions of both. Together with her husband, Hannes, Simone has led the traditional family winery Jordan (started in 1858 in Groß-Reipersdorf, near Pulkau) since 2010. (For trademark reasons, the wines are sold here in the USA as “Hiller.”) Before turning to winemaking, Simone was crowned regional wine queen of Lower Austria and then wine queen of all of Austria. She went on to complete her oenology studies and has been making regionally expressive wines in the Weinviertel ever since.
