Tua Rita Giusto di Notri Toscana 2020
20% OFF RETAIL!
Rita and Virgilio Terzini founded Tua Rita in 1984 in Suvereto, in the heart of what would later become Bolgheri’s inland neighbor Val di Cornia, and from the beginning placed their bet on Merlot in a region no one was paying attention to. When Robert Parker awarded Tua Rita’s 1997 Redigaffi a perfect 100 points, it was only the second time he had ever given that score to an Italian wine. The Giusto di Notri is the estate’s Bordeaux-style blend, a wine of extraordinary depth and polish built around 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc, and 8% Merlot, aged in new oak with meticulous control at the single-parcel level. James Suckling awarded the 2020 97 points, adding it to his list of Italy’s Top 100 Wines, Wine Enthusiast 96, Wine Advocate 97, Vinous 94, and Wine Spectator 93. Despite the huge splash they made two decades ago, Tua Rita stays out of the spotlight, which is exactly why the pricing here is so exceptional. A symphony of dark fruit, dried flowers, cedar, pipe tobacco, and dried herbs on the palate, with fine tannins and remarkable length. Very limited. Grab it while you can.
