Pinot Noir
| Victoria
One of the great rarities of Australia. In a blind tasting, most of the pros would guess Burgundy, perhaps Pommard. This is delicate and intersting aromatically and equally provactive on the palate. Don't miss trying a couple of bottles of this beauty!
About The Producer
Tolpuddle Vineyard stands as an exquisite Australian wine producer, nestled within the enchanting cool-climate wine region of Tasmania. Here, amidst the pristine landscapes, they craft premium-quality, single vineyard wines showcasing the elegant flavors of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grape varieties.
Within their wine portfolio, you'll discover a curated selection, exclusively featuring the two grape varieties mentioned earlier. At Tolpuddle, the winemaking journey embraces traditional, low-intervention practices. However, the essence of their philosophy lies in the belief that crafting top-tier wine begins in the vineyard. Consequently, the heart of their efforts revolves around impeccable viticultural practices.
The roots of Tolpuddle Vineyard delve back to 1988 when the first vines were planted. The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines bask in a beneficial north-east aspect, capturing abundant sunshine hours to coax the grapes into reaching their fullest potential. The light silica and sandstone soil, with its gentle stress on the vines, ensures a balanced vigor, resulting in grapes imbued with concentrated flavor compounds.
A fascinating historical nod graces the vineyard's name – Tolpuddle, inspired by the Tolpuddle Martyrs, English convicts banished to Tasmania in 1834 for daring to form an agricultural union. This legacy intertwines with the vines, creating a narrative that transcends time and enriches each bottle with a unique heritage.
