Only 10 cases! Stéphane Ogier is one of the leading names in the Northern Rhône, and we are ecstatic to have his 93-point 2022 Mon Village Côte-Rôtie for the best price in the country, by a landslide!

Sleek, yet juicy... Spicy, savory, velvety, and fragrant with purple flowers and dark berries… Open, alluring, elegant, and exquisitely balanced. You might not expect a 2022 vintage Côte-Rôtie to have so much going on in its youth, but this is as inviting and expressive as can be – a testament to the prowess of the producer, as well as the vast success of the vintage overall.

Originally founded by Michel Ogier, this Northern Rhône domaine has gained significant recognition after Stéphane took the helm in the late ‘90s as the seventh generation. Located in the heart of Côte-Rôtie, on the slopes of Ampuis, the winery has steadily become one of the key figures within the appellation. With his modern yet terroir-centric approach to winemaking, Stéphane has built the estate into a powerhouse for tailored, site-driven, and elegant Syrah from the renowned Côte-Rôtie appellation.

This Mon Village is a 97% Syrah beauty, with 3% Viognier, from the combined iconic Rhône terroirs of Côte Brune and Côte Blonde, offering bits and pieces of each region’s best elements. An onslaught of juicy blackberry, blueberry, and dark plum build out the core, caressed by accents of dry-cured meats, peppercorn, violets and dark roses, black licorice, and something like wet stones from the bottom of a gurgling creek. It’s full-bodied and bold, yet so velvety-smooth and somehow soft in the mouth, with tannins gently folded into each sip. There’s a reason this Côte Rôtie expert is so widely admired… and this bottling is a chance to try some of their best for the lowest price in the whole country.

FOOD PAIRINGS: If you have a trusty BBQ spot nearby (or fancy yourself an adept smoker), get yourself some smoked brisket with slaw, baked beans, pickles, and bread for a jaw-dropping pairing with this vivacious Côte Rôtie.

About The Producer

Domaine Stéphane Ogier is a family estate based in Ampuis with roots in the Northern Rhône stretching back seven generations, though the domaine’s modern identity began to take shape in the late 20th century when the family shifted from selling grapes to bottling their own wines. Stéphane Ogier joined the estate in 1997 after training in Burgundy, bringing a renewed focus on parcel-by-parcel vinification and a style that balances the power of Syrah with finesse, purity, and transparency to terroir. Today, the domaine is considered one of the benchmark producers of the Northern Rhône, with acclaimed holdings in Côte-Rôtie and a broad range of wines from Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Seyssuel, and the Collines Rhodaniennes, all crafted with a modern, thoughtful approach that respects both tradition and site expression.
