Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars is one of Napa’s certified legends and biggest names – with a far-reaching history and awe-striking pedigree to back it up! This 2022 Artemis Cabernet Sauvignon only further cements their icon status – with Suckling calling it “elegant” and “well-balanced,” and priced under $60 with free shipping when you opt for 2 or more bottles! (Pssst, this is the lowest price you’ll find it anywhere in the U.S.!)

Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars was thrust into the global public eye when their 1973 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded the highest honor at the 1976 Judgment of Paris, even beating out First Growth Bordeaux Chateaux. In that moment, the winery was catapulted into international icon status, and they’ve remained on that trajectory in the decades since. Today, they’re a benchmark for quality Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and considered a first growth estate in the area – and that 1973 bottling of S.L.V. Cabernet now resides in the Smithsonian, which named it one of the “Objects that Made America”.

Our favorite wine worlds collided when Marchesi Antinori – one of Italy’s oldest family-owned wine producers and a personal favorite of ours – purchased Stag’s Leap in 2023, keeping the winery firmly on the pathway of quality and craftsmanship they’ve become known for. The Artemis Cabernet Sauvignon – named after the Greek Goddess of the Hunt – has been one of their top offerings since its first vintage in 2001. For the 2022 vintage, 73% of the fruit hails from Atlas Peak, with 12% from Coombsville and 15% from other Napa Valley stalwarts (including their own prized vineyards in Stags Leap). It’s a blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1.5% Cabernet Franc, and .5% Petit Verdot.

And if you were to ask me, I’m seriously expecting some higher scores forthcoming here – ‘cause this violet and rose petal infused beauty is absolutely stunning right now! Even in its considerable youth, there’s this red strawberry and deep black cherry aroma to pair with those transformative floral notes, and the first sip just explodes with black currants and framboise, with mixed berry pie, and cool menthol and graphite sensations. The texture is pure cashmere – with a dusty, earthy truffle note, and this long and sexy finish. Truly gorgeous stuff – but with a history like this, what else would you expect? Snagging 2 bottles knocks the price down to under $60 a bottle (the best price in the country), and unlocks free shipping... you know what to do!

PAIRING IDEAS: Gotta go with a burger here. It’s just the only way… we’re thinking an extra-thick steakhouse burger – perfectly seasoned, incredibly juicy, with loaded up fixin’s (white cheddar, bacon, arugula, pickled onions, and burger sauce) to top it off.
