The name (pronounced “rain”) stands for Research in Agriculture and Enology Naturally, and the small team works with dedication to farm esteemed coastal vineyards along the Sonoma coast to craft limited-production, artisanal wines reflective of the distinct terroir.

The 2024 Lady Marjorie Chardonnay pays respect to the brothers’ grandmother, Marjorie, a determined and hard-working woman, and another major source of inspiration to the men’s own work and lives. Pulled from 5 acres of organic, true coastal vineyards just an arm’s reach from the Pacific Ocean, the grapes are a blend of Wente and 4 clones grown among Josephine and Goldridge soils, pulling in incredible depth and vibrancy. Vinous calls this, “elegant, delicate and wonderfully nuanced.” Citrus, pear, white flowers, chalk, sage, and white pepper... simply put, endlessly complex and divine to sip! Our numbers are incredibly limited for each, so do what you must to make some of these great California legacy wines yours! 94 points a piece – you know the drill!

About The Producer

In a remote, raw territory where forests and meadows meet the Pacific Ocean, the story of RAEN began in 2013. Fourth-generation vintners and brothers, Carlo and Dante Mondavi (sons of Tim Mondavi and grandchildren of Robert Mondavi), admired these hills of the true Sonoma Coast for decades, recognizing their potential to yield whole-cluster pinot noirs of incredible expression, elegance, and length. RAEN (pronounced "rain") is their ethos, representing a dedication to Research in Agriculture and Enology Naturally and reminding us that rain becomes wine in the vineyard every year.
