Having tasted this wine now on multiple occasions and fully stocked my cellar, I can say without question, this happens to be the best value in fine wine today. With nearly a decade of maturity already behind it, the 2016 normale earned 95 points from both Wine Enthusiast and Wine & Spirits, the latter calling it a stunner and one of the best bargains in all of Barbaresco. Look for a fragrant nose of violet, woodland berry, and wild mint, with a linear, elegant palate of crunchy red cherry, wild raspberry, white pepper, and star anise, framed by firm, refined tannins and racy acidity. Just entering its prime drinking window and with a long road still ahead – a beautiful bottle to open now or in the next 10-15 years.
