Pierre launched his domaine in 2009 after years of hands-on experience across the region, and his wines reflect that deep familiarity with place. His Crozes-Hermitage “Accroche Cœur” (literally “heart-catcher”) is exactly that: soulful, expressive Syrah that’s honest, vibrant, and wildly drinkable. No scores, no hype—just a wine that punches well above its weight and reminds you why Northern Rhône reds are so endlessly compelling.

This is the bottle I keep reaching for when I want something serious but not stiff, generous but still precise. At our price, it’s an easy yes—and one I’d hate for you to miss.

Tasting notes: Deep ruby in the glass, with lifted aromas of blackberry, cracked pepper, smoked meat, and violets. The palate is supple and energetic, layering dark fruit with savory Rhône spice and a clean, stony finish that keeps everything fresh and dangerously drinkable. Delicious now with a short decant, but with enough structure to reward a few years in the cellar.

About The Producer

Pierre-Jean Villa is a highly regarded Northern Rhône producer founded in 2009 by Pierre-Jean Villa, a native of Chavanay who brought decades of experience from Burgundy and the influential Les Vins de Vienne project before launching his own domaine. From the outset, Villa focused on expressing terroir with precision, farming his vineyards organically and practicing low-intervention winemaking to highlight freshness, balance, and site character. Today, the domaine spans prime holdings across appellations such as Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, and Crozes-Hermitage, operating as a family estate with a growing commitment to organic and biodynamic principles and a reputation as one of the Northern Rhône’s most compelling modern producers.
