While specific vintage-by-vintage tasting notes for the 2022 may not yet be widely published, wines from this estate — especially from the namesake vineyard — are known for their refinement, classic Bordeaux-style structure, restrained extraction, and elegance. Historically they show black currant or cassis, subtle herbal or tobacco notes, and earthy undertones rather than overtly jammy fruit. The 2022 should reflect this tradition: expect a wine of finesse more than exuberance, with well-integrated tannins and acidity, a moderate body, and an ability to evolve gracefully over many years in cellar — a style suited to serious collectors and those who appreciate terroir-driven, age-worthy Cabernets.

About The Producer

Philip Togni is a luminary. He planted his first vines at 2000 feet near the top of Spring Mountain in 1981. Born in England, Philip studied with the legendary Emile Peynaud and moved to Napa in 1959 where he first worked at Mayacamas. His resume grew quickly getting experience at Chalone, Chappellet, Cuvaison and Ingelnook.
