Nestled in the rolling hills of La Morra, brothers Massimo and Ezio Negretti craft wines that are as rooted in heritage as they are alive with energy. With prized vineyards in Roddi, La Morra, and Monforte, their Barolos speak the pure, powerful dialect of Langhe tradition – structured, age-worthy, and profoundly expressive stuff that we’ve been massive fans of for years.

Though their family has tended vines for generations, it wasn’t until 2002 that the brothers poured their passion into launching a winery of their own, built among the very hills their great-grandparents once worked. This is no commercial operation – Massimo and Ezio remain hands-on in every stage, from pruning the vines to blending the barrels, always with reverence for terroir and time-honored methods. Their 32 acres of vineyards are a masterclass in dedication, carved into some of the region’s most hallowed slopes.

Enter their Bricco Ambrogio 2020 – a single-vineyard Barolo that thrills with its complexity. Waves of myriad florals, ripe cherry, dehydrated orange, wild herbs, cedar, roasted coffee, and tobacco unfold sip after sip, anchored by a silken texture and an acid-tannin balance that promises a long life ahead. It's the kind of wine that evolves in the glass and lingers in memory. This is a once-in-a-blue-moon opportunity to experience top-tier Barolo from an outstanding, approachable vintage – at a price you’re unlikely to see again. First come, first served!

PAIRING IDEAS: Go beef or go home. We’re talking about garlic butter steak bites with creamy mashed potatoes and a tantalizing seasoning medley. Oh, yes!

About The Producer

Since 2002, Brothers Massimo and Ezio Negretti own prime stretches of vineyard in Roddi, La Morra, and Monforte, and make powerful, classically-styled, ageable wines from their winery near La Morra. As young as this dynamic, enterprising venture may be, however, the past has not been forgotten in the traditions handed down from great grandparents, who were wine growers and producers way back at the beginning of the last century.
