The 2021 La Réserve shows a more classic, lifted expression of Châteauneuf, with bright red fruits, floral tones, and savory herbs leading the way. Grenache purity shines through, supported by fine tannins and a vibrant кислотity that gives the wine energy and precision. Elegant and structured, it’s a beautifully balanced vintage that will reward both early drinking and mid-term cellaring.

About The Producer

The estate remained off the CdP map until 1955 when Paul Pouizin recognized its remarkable terroir and began clearing land for vine cultivation. Over the years, the Pouizin family, particularly Claude and Colette Pouizin, played pivotal roles in the estate's transformation into a renowned vineyard. Despite initial skepticism from locals in Courthézon, Claude's vision to replace woods with vineyards prevailed, leading to the production of the first bottles in the 1970s. With meticulous attention to sustainable practices, including organic and biodynamic agriculture since the early 2000s, Le Clos du Caillou remains committed to nurturing its vines and producing wines of exceptional elegance and finesse, rooted in the rich terroir of the Rhône Valley.
