Do not miss this gorgeous wine from pro footballer turned winemaker, Stephane Vedeau – with a stunning 98 POINTS – this is one of the top CdPs of the marvelous 2019 vintage! All at our mind-boggling price today!

This is quite simply classic Châteauneuf that straddles the line of "modern" and "traditional" beautifully, and in ‘19, it is in full bloom. Warm raspberry and raspberry liquor, kirsch, garrigue, and strawberry pith with great purity and intensity. This has Stephane’s signature complexity and depth of flavor that gives it incredible length and class. BRAVO! If you don't have any 2019 Châteauneuf in your life right now, it's time to get some before it all disappears for good!

“This is a seriously talented winemaker who is quickly emerging as a star of the southern Rhone.” – Robert Parker, Jr.

We love everything Stephane Vedeau does (especially his masterful spitting...seriously...as wine professionals, we spit out gallons of wine every day and Stephane is a true master spitter). We tasted with him in Paris a few weeks back and this wine was the hit of the day! And we’re talking about a day where we tasted literally a hundred different wines, folks. This is all class, and as good as the rest of the La Ferme du Mont portfolio is… this was undoubtedly the cream of the crop for 2019. Old vines, from the classic galets (large rolled pebbles) and sandy soils of a northeastern-facing terrace in the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. 80% grenache, plus 10% each of syrah and mourvèdre, this is classically styled, scrumptious, and concentrated. There’s a weight and purity here that is remarkable – where red raspberry, black cherry, and strawberry notes achieve a fully ripe, yet not jammy, profile, and a rush of myriad spices and minerals fill in all the crevices to grant the wine a tremendous depth and never-ending finish. This is packed like a fist for now, but there is simply too much going on here for the wine to be closed off completely. An amazing transformation with twenty minutes in the glass, but we’d say better still with another few years in bottle. 98 points for just a whisper over $50?! That’s the kind of Châteauneuf we can never get enough of! First come, first served, this will go fast!

About The Producer

“La Ferme du Mont in the Southern Rhone boasts a mosaic of vineyards, now owned and vinified by Stephane Vedeau. Formerly a soccer player in Paris, Stephane shifted to winemaking in 1989 and spent 15 years making award-winning wines in the Languedoc. Stephane arrived in the Rhone Valley in 2000, creating La Ferme du Mont in the Southern Rhone where he continues to produce wines with freshness and soul using native yeasts and biodynamic methods. From La Ferme du Mont’s very first vintages, Robert Parker noted, “Stephane Vedeau one of the young, energetic Turks of Chateâuneuf-du-Pape , has emerged from the woodwork to produce stunning wines…This is a seriously talented winemaker who is quickly emerging as a star of the southern Rhone.”
