The 2007 Grand Vin from State Lane Vineyard is a benchmark of old-school Napa power refined by precision and age. Fully mature in magnum, it layers cassis, black cherry, graphite, tobacco leaf, and cocoa with a savory, loamy undertone that speaks clearly of Yountville. The palate is seamless and resonant, with resolved tannins, expansive mid-palate depth, and a finish that lingers with quiet authority—an impeccable, ready-to-drink Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate 100-point classic.

About The Producer

Kapcsándy Family Winery, established in 2000 by Hungarian immigrant Lou Kapcsándy and his family, is a boutique, family-run estate located in Yountville, Napa Valley. The winery is situated on the historic 20-acre State Lane Vineyard, formerly a key source for Beringer's Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. After acquiring the property, the Kapcsándy family undertook an extensive replanting effort, meticulously dividing the vineyard into 15 specific blocks planted primarily with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. They employed sustainable farming practices, including the use of nesting boxes and cover crops, to enhance vineyard health and biodiversity. The winery's commitment to quality is evident in their rigorous vineyard management and winemaking processes, resulting in highly acclaimed wines such as their Estate Cuvée Cabernet Sauvignon and Roberta's Reserve Merlot. Following Lou's passing in 2021, his son, Louis Jr., continues to uphold the family's dedication to producing wines that reflect the finesse and elegance reminiscent of European grand crus.
