Harlan Estate was conceived to rival the great First Growths of Bordeaux, and has it ever lived up to that vision! Founded in 1984 by real estate developer Bill Harlan in the western hills of Oakville, the estate was planted on rugged, carefully chosen parcels and managed with an uncompromising focus on terroir expression rather than volume. Under the early influence of winemaker Bob Levy and later Michel Rolland as a consulting enologist, Harlan Estate quickly earned near-unprecedented critical acclaim, including multiple 100-point scores from Robert Parker. Production is tiny, and demand vastly exceeds supply, reinforcing its aura of exclusivity.
With that – we have an incredible opportunity for you to take home two of the estate’s most prized library vintages, though we have less than five bottles available of each. The 1997 Harlan is often regarded as one of the winery’s benchmark vintages, with 100 POINTS from Robert Parker and shaped by an outstanding and warm growing season. It is powerful but seamless, with rich concentration and polished layers of blackberry, cassis, graphite, tobacco, and dark chocolate, framed by remarkably resolved tannins. This showstopper remains one of the most celebrated Napa wines of all time.
