Australia producing world-class Riesling? If you haven't been paying attention to Frankland Estate, allow this to be your introduction. The Smith Cullam – named after founders Barrie Smith and Judi Cullam – is an off-dry masterpiece fermented in large-format French oak foudres, yielding a wine of crystalline texture, vivid citrus energy, and a gentle lick of sweetness that makes it practically impossible to put down. Expect brilliant lemon squash, candied citrus zest, mountain herb, and tonic, all wrapped in that laser-focused, tense acidity that only the best cool-climate Riesling can deliver. Drink it now, or tuck it away – this one will cellar beautifully for years.

About The Producer

Frankland Estate is one of Australia’s pioneering cool-climate wineries, founded in 1988 by the Smith and Cullam families in the remote Frankland River region of Western Australia. From the beginning, the estate focused on organic farming and minimal-intervention winemaking long before either became industry trends, helping establish Frankland River as one of the country’s premier terroirs for Riesling and Rhône varietals. Today, under the direction of second-generation family members and acclaimed winemaker Hunter Smith, Frankland Estate continues to produce vibrant, site-driven wines known for their purity, structure, and remarkable aging potential.
