Domaine Vacheron! Organic and biodynamic since 2000, the Vacherons are without question one of Sancerre’s leading winemaking clans, and we’re stoked to have this limited wine available to you today! These will go quickly!

We can scarcely get anything from Sancerre these days, so to have this recent release from one of the region’s most exceptional producers…well, it feels pretty darn great! From the family’s pioneering work in identifying and utilizing the region’s top terroirs, to their leading position in biodynamic viticulture today, there are few (if any) artisans in Sancerre as exacting or as respected.

Here we have “Le Paradis” – yes, paradise indeed – sitting on a bedrock of almost entirely chalk, with a touch of silex and almost no clay. A saline minerality drenches the wines, giving it perhaps the most “Sancerre-esque” expression, with notes of gooseberry, cut grass, grapefruit, and pineapple. This 2023 vintage is as bright and delectable and energetic as you might expect, coming from the ever-revered Domaine Vacheron! Limited bottles remain, so move quickly and sip the rest of your summer away in style!

About The Producer

Great-grandfather Maurice Vacheron tended a few vines back when Sancerre was but a stop on a village road. His son, Jean, was the first of the family to specialize in producing wine, paying particular attention to the influence of terroir on Sauvignon Blanc. Jean's sons, Denis and Jean-Louis, solidified the Vacheron name in Sancerre, showcasing the family's talent with Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Today, Denis' son, Jean-Laurent, and Jean-Louis' son, Jean-Dominique, have taken the estate to a whole new level of quality, championing biodynamic viticulture and selecting singular vineyard parcels that the family has observed for generations (and planted with their own hands) to bottle as single-vineyard wines, to showcase the heights that Sancerre can reach. 'Les Romains' was one of the domaines first single vineyard bottlings. The vineyard is made up of pure flint soils, rich in fossilized material that contributes minerality and smokiness to the wine.
