Pinot Noir
| Burgundy
2022 Vergelesses – which, at the time of this writing, is unavailable anywhere else in the country! Grown on 50-year-old vines with flinty limestone and argillocalcareous soils, this is a weighty and powerful, yet elegant Pinot Noir, with notes of muddled raspberries, blackberries, and lilacs.
About The Producer
Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret, based in the heart of Vosne-Romanée in Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits, traces its winemaking roots back to 1620, with eight generations of family tradition. The estate in its current form was established in 1945 when Jean Mongeard, whose mother was from the Mugneret family, began bottling under the combined name, shifting from bulk wine to estate production. Today, under the direction of Vincent Mongeard, the domaine farms about 30 hectares across 35 appellations, including prestigious holdings in Richebourg, Échezeaux, Grands Échezeaux, and Clos de Vougeot. Practicing sustainable viticulture and meticulous cellar work, Mongeard-Mugneret crafts wines celebrated for their depth, perfume, and ability to age, from elegant village bottlings to some of Burgundy’s most sought-after grands crus.
