High on DAOU Mountain in the Adelaida District in the coastal hills west of Paso Robles, brothers Daniel and Georges Daou created their flagship on a bet that this corner of California could rival Bordeaux's best. Engineers raised in Paris and Cannes, they sold a computer-networking company in their 30s before Daniel threw himself into winemaking, eventually landing on a hillside that legendary consultant André Tchelistcheff once called "a jewel of ecological elements."

Patrimony is positioned as a California "first growth," the estate's pursuit to make the Adelaida District a global all-star for Bordeaux varietals. The site's rare marriage of soil, aspect, and climate produces phenolics among the highest in the world, giving the wine extraordinary color, depth, and structure. The 2022 is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, raised 30 months in new French oak and swirling with complexities: blackberries, dark figs, blueberry preserves, smoky sandalwood, fresh violets, and dark chocolate fudge. It slowly reveals its layers, moving from inky, bodacious fruit to stony minerals to pastry shop sweetness and lingering tannins, with an immensely supple personality.

This is DAOU’s most exclusive, top-tier Cab, and a stunning expression of this hallowed area. Not many to share, and several long years of life ahead for those who wish to cellar theirs… so get what you can, while you can!

About The Producer

As young men, brothers Georges and Daniel Daou shared the same dream: to live a life in wine. Their dream prevailed years later when they discovered what would become known as DAOU Mountain, an untapped world-class terroir in the Adelaida District of Paso Robles. Ever since, they have poured their souls into creating some of California's most noteworthy wines while cultivating a guest experience to match. In the end, DAOU is about family - and the truth that nothing brings people together like wine.
