We’re massive fans of Australia’s Margaret River, and can’t believe we have access to this new release from a masterful pioneer of the region! With 97+ points, the gorgeous 2023 Kevin John Chardonnay is over $50 off, and an energetic reflection of Cullen Wine’s rigorous winemaking and their estate’s spectacular terroir.

Kevin and Diana Cullen were always farmers, but they made the drastic switch from cattle and sheep to viticulture in 1971, marking the initiation of one of Margaret River’s first wineries in Southern Australia. Inspired by Dr. John Gladstones’ advice that Margaret River’s climate was ideal for wine growing, they planted 17 acres of vines that year and never looked back. They eventually became the first winery in Australia to be certified carbon neutral and have long been a leader in sustainable viticulture and biodynamic farming. The third generation of the family, Vanya Cullen, now runs the estate and oversees the winemaking, emphasizing a low intervention approach to allow for the purest expression of terroir.

We have limited cases of Cullen’s 2023 Kevin John Chardonnay – an exceptional wine with a glowing 97+ point score. The biodynamic masterpiece shows striking purity with notes of white peach, lemon curd, and flinty minerality. The texture is both creamy and taut, lifted by vibrant acidity and a lingering saline edge with an elegant and complex personality. Truth be told, you need this on your table this spring and well into the summer. It’s fresh, layered, and a vibrant depiction of Margaret River’s distinct and charmed terroir. For over $50 off, you might as well fill up a six-pack!
