Wind might not be the first thing you think of with wine, but as I researched this incredible, 99 point Willamette Valley Pinot Noir… that’s the biggest thing that stuck out to me. See, this wine grows along the Van Duzer Corridor in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA of Oregon’s wine country. In this corridor, more than just the sun, soil, and slope of the hill affect the grapes. The wind here wisps and funnels its way from the Pacific Ocean and through the vines, adding a cooling aspect that affects the grape skins and ripening.
