Clos du Val was named the top-ranked American Sauvignon Blanc at the 2025 Decanter World Wine Awards, a remarkable achievement for an estate best known for its Cabernet, and a testament to winemaker Carmel Greenberg's work since joining from Dominus Estate. The wine is sourced from cooler areas of Napa Valley where morning fog and afternoon breezes preserve freshness and aromatic intensity, with the grapes fermented primarily in stainless steel to retain varietal purity, though select lots see neutral French oak and extended lees contact for added texture. The result shows beautiful texture with sliced grapefruit, pears, flowers, and hints of fennel, medium-bodied, dry, and crisp with crushed stone notes.
