A triple-100-point wine, this 2009 is a benchmark modern Saint-Émilion. Intense blackberry, mocha, violet, and mineral notes are supported by seamless tannins and extraordinary length. Luxurious yet structured, it remains youthful and profoundly age-worthy.

About The Producer

Château Beauséjour, located in Montagne-Saint-Émillion northeast of Saint-Émillion, was established in 1851. In 2004, Pierre and Patricia Bernault took ownership with the aim to revive the estate's reputation and status as one of the region's top wines. With the support of renowned oenologist Stephane Derenoncourt, they succeeded in their goal. The vines at Château Beauséjour are grown on a hillside facing south-southwest, from outside the Montagne church's bell tower to the Calon mills. The vines are very old, some over 100 years, and the terroir consists of clay and limestone with limited topsoil. No harmful chemicals are used, and yields are kept low for a more traditional winemaking process with minimal extraction to preserve the wine's elegance.
