This mature Châteauneuf-du-Pape shows layered aromas of dried cherry, garrigue, leather, and warm spice. The palate is silky yet powerful, with beautifully integrated tannins and savory depth. A classic, fully evolved expression from one of the appellation’s most distinctive sites.

About The Producer

Chapelle Saint-Théodoric is a relatively young and highly distinctive Châteauneuf-du-Pape project that debuted with its first vintage in 2009, born from a partnership between respected American importer Peter Weygandt and winemaker Baptiste Grangeon of Domaine de Cristia. The domaine sources old-vine Grenache from two tiny, sandy terroirs in the Pignan and La Guigasse lieux-dits—soils that differ markedly from the region’s typical galets and contribute to wines of finesse, purity, and terroir clarity. With low yields, biodynamic farming, and whole-cluster vinification followed by aging in demi-muids, Chapelle Saint-Théodoric has quickly earned a reputation for rare, expressive, and critically lauded Châteauneuf-du-Pape that highlights the subtleties of its unique sites.
