It all began in 1973 when Jack Cakebread, a former mechanic and photography enthusiast, was on a photo assignment in Napa. Captivated by the region's charm, Jack casually mentioned to some friends that he was interested in buying a vineyard. To his surprise, a phone call later, he found himself the proud owner of a 22-acre ranch. With no formal training but a hearty dose of passion and perseverance, Jack and his wife Dolores transformed this humble ranch into a world-renowned winery. Over the decades, Cakebread Cellars has flourished, renowned for its top-tier Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.
