Nicolas Potel came up through stints at Georges Roumier in Burgundy, Moss Wood in Australia, and Tom Dehlinger in California before working alongside his father at Domaine de la Pousse d'Or in Volnay. In 2008, he launched Maison Roche de Bellene as the négociant side of his own operation, tapping his deep network across the region to source top-tier fruit for what he called an "haute couture" négoce. The focus was set on individual terroirs from old vines – 40 years and up – farmed organically or by lutte raisonnée. As such, this 4-pack blends serious pedigree, careful winemaking, and four of the Côte de Nuits' most legendary vineyards in a single box.
All come from the 2021 vintage – defined by brutal April frosts that slashed yields to one of the smallest Burgundy harvests in memory (making these bottles all the rarer). But the later-budding Pinot of the Côte de Nuits largely escaped the frost, and critics have hailed the season as a return to classicism. Fresh, moderate in alcohol, and packed with a plot-by-plot sense of place... a throwback to the elegant, aromatic style of pre-climate-change Burgundy.
In each 4-pack, we’ve got one of each of the following wines:
- Chambertin Grand Cru is the powerhouse – a deep, structured, built-to-age heavyweight of Gevrey-Chambertin, and arguably the most storied red vineyard in all of Burgundy.
- Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru (95 points) is the more elegant, silky counterpoint – floral, poised, and beautifully lifted.
- Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru carries centuries of Cistercian monk history behind its famous stone walls, delivering that classic mix of richness and earthy depth.
- Echézeaux Grand Cru, sitting right beside Vosne-Romanée, brings endless finesse – red fruit, spice, and signature Vosne silkiness.
Four Grand Crus. One knockout vintage. Individually these add up to $2,560 retail, but you're getting all FOUR for under $1,000 total, with free shipping! Important to note, we have VERY limited stock and no plans to restock at this price. When it's gone, it's gone – so grab yours before they disappear!
