It’s a glorious day when we have Beaulieu Vineyard in the house, and today we’re rocking 4-packs of Cabernet Sauvignon from the 2019 vintage – two bottles from Ranch 1 and two from Ranch 2… a couple of sites sitting side by side in Rutherford giving you the chance to experience fantastically unique neighbors head to head… twice over ($380 value). PLUS, every pack is delivered with a code to book a FREE tasting for 2 at the winery ($100 value)! Get the whole kit and caboodle for a heart-racing $219, shipping included.

Beaulieu Vineyard was founded by Georges de Latour in the very early days of Napa Valley, and the winery's reputation was centered on Rutherford Cabernet, making this 4-pack all the more fun and alluring. Ranch 1 is a 128-acre property that includes the original Georges de Latour Estate, and Ranch 2 is an 85-acre vineyard just to the south, on the west side of Highway 29, planted mostly to Cabernet. Same neighborhood and same pedigree, but two very distinctive personalities. You get two bottles of each, so you can drink one of each now and keep the others to see how they change!

The vintage is an excellent one to have in the cellar, too. The 2019 harvest began a week or two later than usual after a rainy February, and a wet spring was followed by cool weather that let the fruit ripen slowly. The extended, cool season produced grapes with full flavor, fresh acidity, and good balance, and the crop was modest and a bit more compact in structure than in earlier years. Both wines carry the signature Rutherford dust characteristic, a term tied to the legendary BV winemaker André Tchelistcheff that describes the fine cocoa-powder tannins this stretch of Napa is known for.

Ranch 1 is bright and graceful, opening with red currant, dark cherry, and black raspberry, along with wild sage and a hint of fresh mushroom that makes you think of a walk through damp woods. On the palate it tastes like chocolate-covered cherries and ripe plum, finishing with espresso and a little toasty barrel spice with plush tannins and a driven finish. Ranch 2 is deeper and moodier, showing cassis and blackberry first, followed by forest floor, allspice, and sage. In the mouth, there’s cocoa powder and warm berry compote, with an espresso shot on the finish, and a firm and polished structure. Open them side by side if you can, because it's a great way to see what a few hundred yards of Rutherford can do.

Our price brings each bottle to a little under $55 for single-vineyard Rutherford Cabernet from one of Napa's most historic names, and don’t forget you have a free tasting for 2 at the winery thrown in! (Your code will arrive with your wines like the happiest delivery you could ever imagine.) Quantities are limited, so grab yours before they're gone!

About The Producer

Beaulieu Vineyards (BV) is, of course, a legend in the Napa Valley since 1900. They were one of the few wineries able to make wine during that dark period known as Prohibition, and the home of one of Napa's patriarchs, the also-legendary Andre Tchelistcheff. "Maestro" refers to Andre's skill and influence that helped catapult BV to what it is today. The story is so familiar it could write itself. The winemaking legacy of Beaulieu Vineyards remains unbroken for more than a century. Georges de Latour and his wife Fernande moved from France and purchased 127 acres of land to produce wine that rivaled French wine. "Quelle Beau Lieu" means "What a Beautiful Place" and still today, BV stands as one of the greatest legacy wineries in the USA!
