With a history in Montalcino dating back to an astounding 1580, Argiano has, for decades, been a go-to, rock-solid and excellent producer. In a vintage like 2015, however, it’s next level!
We LOVE a Brunello like this that comes out of the gate just SINGING and continues to open in the glass as you work through it with dinner. Every sip is something different --- blood orange, savory herb, bright blue and purple berries, lavender, toffee, cool, loamy earth...wow! Argiano’s 120 hectare estate in the southwestern corner of Montalcino sits at 1,000 feet elevation in an ideal growing environment, particularly suited to Sangiovese. The vineyards receive bountiful sunlight and warmth, with gentle breezes off the Tyrrhenian Sea and protection from harsh weather thanks to nearby Mount Amiata, one of Tuscany’s highest peaks.
PAIRING IDEAS: Something mushroomy. How about a Beef Wellington? Or a simple mushroom risotto, whip in some truffle butter right at the end. Perfect!
MUSIC SUGGESTIONS: We’re thinking....Jimi Hendrix and his version of “All Along The Watchtower”! VIBING hard to some ELECTRIC guitar and this SINGING Brunello!! Let’s start this morning off right!
