From the famed Hipping vineyard in Nierstein’s Roter Hang, this 2021 Kabinett channels one of Rheinhessen’s most prized sites into a lighter, finely tuned style. Expect ripe melon and pear notes wrapped around a distinct mineral streak, with the classic Kabinett balance of modest alcohol and lively freshness. Trust me, this will disappear faster than anyone expects.

About The Producer

Weingut Strub has deep roots in the Rheinhessen wine region that stretch back to 1710, making it one of Germany’s longstanding family estates. For more than three centuries, the Strub family has farmed vineyards in and around Nierstein along the famed Roter Hang, a stretch of red slate soils beside the Rhine that yields highly expressive Rieslings. Today Walter Strub and his son Sebastian oversee about 15 hectares, emphasizing site-specific Riesling from classic parcels like Hipping, Orbel, and Pettenthal. Their focus is on clean, transparent wines that convey both fruit and the minerality of the terroir, with sustainable practices guiding vineyard and cellar work.
