Saint-Aubin sits in a side valley between Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, and La Chatenière is among the commune's most prized premier cru sites. When young, these wines tout a refreshing grip and convey qualities of white flowers, citrus, pear, green almond, and wet stone; given some age, a graceful evolution brings richer aromas of beeswax, honey, marzipan, and spice. The 2019 vintage added an extra layer of ripe generosity while the premier cru site delivered its characteristic restraint, giving you the best of both worlds. Premier Cru Saint-Aubin is often far better value and quality than village Puligny-Montrachet, and this offering from Nicolas Potel is a perfect case in point.

About The Producer

Maison Roche de Bellene was founded in 2005 by Nicolas Potel, a renowned Burgundian winemaker with deep family roots in the region. After establishing his reputation through Domaine de Rochegrès and his own négociant business, Potel launched Roche de Bellene as a high-quality, terroir-driven négociant house. Focused on sourcing fruit from old-vine, sustainably farmed vineyards across Burgundy, the maison offers a diverse range of wines, from regional Bourgogne to prestigious Grand Cru bottlings. The philosophy is centered on minimal intervention winemaking, allowing each terroir’s expression to shine through with purity and elegance. Today, Maison Roche de Bellene continues to be a respected name in Burgundy, known for its meticulous sourcing, consistent quality, and commitment to sustainable viticulture, offering both accessible and collectible wines that reflect the essence of the region.
