The 2019 Fico brings it home in spectacular fashion. This is an ambitious organic and biodynamic wine made in limited quantity. The project initially started off with four vineyard rows near a fig tree in the same parcel that gives Sangiovese for Duccio Corsini's Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Zac. Today, 20 rows are dedicated to Fico, and production is expected to grow by 900 bottles, to a grand total of 2,400. Fruit from the Zac vineyard also goes to Per Filo, although the two wines are represented by different yields and selections. Another difference between the two is that Fico goes into barrique and Per Filo finishes in tonneaux. This wine is distinguished by an extremely lifted and feather light quality. It also offers floral tones and wild fruit with an impressive level of sharpness and focus. It's like looking through a recently polished window. This vintage is where you really start to see renewed momentum in the Fico Wine project.
