When Canadian-born art and music lover Cliff Lede bought a handful of vineyards in Napa’s Oakville district back in 2002, he had a simple goal of making wines that struck all the right notes... literally. He mapped out the blocks of his Stags Leap vineyards and named each one after his favorite rock songs (i.e., My Generation, Dark Side of the Moon, Whole Lotta Love, and so on). In just two decades, the estate has since expanded its holdings, now comprising over 160 acres across Napa Valley, and become a fixture among Napa’s elite, crafting Cabernets that demonstrate power, precision, and a bit of rock ‘n’ roll soul.

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon is a harmonious blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon with 3% each Petit Verdot and Merlot, sourced from an exceptional vineyard with rocky, poor soils on the southeast border of Oakville. After rigorously hand-harvesting and sophisticated three-tiered sorting, the wine ages for 21 months in 87% new French oak barrels, allowing the dark fruit flavors and fine-grained tannins to come together seamlessly.

In the glass, the Cab is plush yet structured, showing decadent waves of blackberry, black currant, finely ground espresso, and pencil lead, with just a whisper of sweet vanilla.
