Beringer is back, folks! Today, we have their super charming, woodsy, molten-like 2019 Pauli Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from the apex of Howell Mountain on offer, and we’re over the moon about this wine. Double 94 points! But don’t blink – we’re offering an extra $50 off per bottle AND free shipping on orders of two bottles or more for a limited time, and there isn’t much to go around.

Beringer has been making wine since 1876 and is the oldest continually operating winery in the Valley, built on 140 years of winemaking tradition. Their location in the heart of St. Helena is a California Historic landmark, and their reputation as one of the top California wineries has endured for decades. The latest releases have been on a HUGE qualitative roll, and this Pauli Vineyard bottling continues to knock our expectations out of the water!

“Full-bodied, creamy and chocolatey… Juicy and delicious fruit. Long finish with hints of nuttiness.” –James Suckling

“Translucent and super-expressive, the Pauli has much to offer.” –Vinous

“It's an impeccably made Cabernet Sauvignon to drink over the coming 20 years.” –Jeb Dunnuck

That about says it all, from a trio of top critics! This vineyard was recently renamed as Pauli after decades as Vogt, and now serves as the home ranch of Forman’s illustrious Howell Mountain estate. The fruit from this 15-acre site was first sourced for Beringer’s acclaimed Private Reserve blend in 2009 – and thanks to its volcanic soils and intense, amazingly structured grapes, the team at Beringer knew it would make a fantastic single-vineyard Cabernet expression. How right they were!

The 2019 is packed with grilled herbs and sage, alongside roasted meats that deliver a distinct, mouthwateringly salty and savory aspect. But don’t worry about fruit character, because this is fully loaded with red plums and cherries, uplifting the more typical blackberry fruit qualities. Dusty, chocolate-flecked, and full of graphite on the finish, with a tingly heat that is reminiscent of cedar bark, pink peppercorns, and fresh strawberries – this straight-up sings, y’all. And then we have the price, which melodiously croons: two-plus bottles gets you under $100 per bottle AND free shipping… what else is there to say?

FOOD PAIRINGS: Coffee-rubbed pork tenderloin is one of my favorite ways to enhance the flavors of the pork while adding a sublime texture and smoky depth. No question, a stunning partner for this rich and seductive Cab!

About The Producer

Beringer is a Napa Valley O.G. – known for establishing many 'firsts', including gravity-fed facilities, which hand-dug their own caves, and even opened up their winery to visiting tourists as far back as 1934. For a century and a half, Beringer has led the way here in the Napa Valley and beyond…and stands as proof that sometimes…just sometimes, legends live up to the hype.
