Albert Morot has been crafting expressive, precise wines in the Côte de Beaune for generations, and La Bataillère – a tiny 0.15-acre Premier Cru vineyard planted in 2013 – is known for its elegance and mineral-driven complexity. Chardonnay isn’t common here (Pinot Noir is the majority planted variety), which makes this bottle feel like a little treasure from Savigny-lès-Beaune.

Tasting notes: Bright lemon and green apple open the glass, followed by silken honeycomb, delicate white flowers, and a touch of spicy, tingly acidity. The result is both approachable and sophisticated, with a long, clean, and refined finish.

About The Producer

Albert Morot is a historic Burgundy winery established in the early 20th century in Morey-Saint-Denis, rooted in traditional Burgundian winemaking and a deep respect for terroir. Over the decades the domaine has built an impressive collection of vineyard holdings in Morey and neighboring appellations, producing wines that reflect the precision and earthy, mineral character of their hillside sites. Today the estate continues to craft age-worthy, classically styled Burgundies, balancing respect for tradition with careful vineyard work to highlight site expression and finesse across its range.
