Carlo and Dante Mondavi (sons of Tim Mondavi and grandsons of Robert Mondavi) started RAEN back in 2013 and never looked back, gaining endless accolades and acclaim from wine lovers, connoisseurs, and critics alike. We have two of their incredible new releases on the docket today, but make haste! Our numbers are crushingly limited, and these won’t last long.

The 2023 Royal St. Robert Pinot Noir is made in homage to Robert Mondavi, Carlo and Dante’s grandfather and their greatest teacher. From a selection of 15.8 acres of organic, coastal vineyards, the grapes are a blend of clones Calera, Swan, 667, 115, and 777, and the cooler growing season imparted a magnificent elegance and lifted aromatic profile, with rugged tones emblematic of the coastal terrain. Black cherries, purple florals, and crushed raspberries give way to forest moss, damp earth, mushroom, and black tea for something immensely deep and dynamic with impressive length. Our numbers are incredibly limited, so do what you must to make some of these great California legacy wines yours! 99 points – you know the drill!

About The Producer

In a remote, raw territory where forests and meadows meet the Pacific Ocean, the story of RAEN began in 2013. Fourth-generation vintners and brothers, Carlo and Dante Mondavi (sons of Tim Mondavi and grandchildren of Robert Mondavi), admired these hills of the true Sonoma Coast for decades, recognizing their potential to yield whole-cluster pinot noirs of incredible expression, elegance, and length. RAEN (pronounced "rain") is their ethos, representing a dedication to Research in Agriculture and Enology Naturally and reminding us that rain becomes wine in the vineyard every year.
