We have the immaculate, brooding, enchantingly complex 2015 vintage of Castello di Romitorio’s Brunello RISERVA today! Just one bottle of this warm, exuberant, and opulent 2015 vintage (98 points) gets you free shipping. What are you waiting for?

Castello Romitorio is headed up by Filippo Chia, who brought the winery to life in 2006. His father, Sandro, purchased the old hermitage property in Montalcino back in 1984, and for over two decades it served as the Società Agricola Castello Romitorio, which was dedicated to “the study, exploration, and promotion of wines belonging to the DOCG and DOC denominations of Montalcino.” They planted Sangiovese and other heritage varieties across their lands, with a particular focus on the oldest clones available. These plantings account for over half of the Romitorio land today, and Filippo simply couldn’t resist utilizing this prized fruit to craft wines of his own – one of which we have for you today.

The 2015 gives you immediate charm with its rich texture and deep, dark fruit layers. After a warmer growing season, it captures sheer generosity and a devastatingly polished, silky body that is super friendly in the here and now. You’ll get notes of blackberry preserves, cherry confit, plum, walnut, and rich tobacco. Yum! It's kind of like what the kids these days call a Golden Retriever boyfriend – happy-go-lucky and here to please.

The ONLY downside – we don’t have much, so make your way to the cart speedily.

About The Producer

Castello Romitorio is a new kid on the block by Tuscan standards, going back in its current iteration to just 1984. They have become revered for pushing the boundaries of what Brunello di Montalcino can be in the modern day, and for their perfect marriage of art and agriculture. Their remote parcel in the northwest of Montalcino is surrounded by forests, which provide a cooling influence and surreal elegance to these wines.
