Only 5 bottles available of Vérité’s 2013 La Muse for a delicious deal! The work of acclaimed winemaker Pierre Seillan, who crafts this cuvée in Sonoma County as an homage to the rich and refined Merlot-based wines of Pomerol. The 2013 vintage is widely regarded as one of the finest Vérité has ever produced, with the winery itself calling it among its top five vintages. Made in a limited run of roughly 3,800 cases, the wine is a blend of 89% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Malbec, sourced from four distinct high-elevation hillside vineyards – Alexander Valley, Chalk Hill, Knights Valley, and Bennett Valley – during a growing season so ideal that critics have called it nearly perfect. Aged 15 months in 100% new French oak, the wine earned double 98 points alongside a great deal of additional praise, cementing its status as one of the most celebrated releases from a producer whose three flagship blends have all achieved perfect scores from major critics. Tasting notes describe a deep, inky garnet color, a rich and spicy nose with pure aromas and a hint of humus, and a palate layered with truffle, licorice, black cherry and mulberry, supported by a round, supple texture and well-balanced tannins that carry through to a long, lingering finish, with an aging potential stretching 20 to 30 years.
