Sojourn may be best known for their Sonoma Pinot Noir portfolio – but this powerhouse Napa Cab is proof that they make great wines from everywhere! The fact that this 95 point Cab hails from the indelible 2021 vintage and is still under $130 for a magnum is almost too good to be true! Almost...

Sojourn has long been one of our favorite, off-the-radar Pinot and Chardonnay producers in California. They work with some simply fantastic vineyards, making craft, small-lots of killer juice that almost always competes directly with wines two or three times the price. Yet, after over two decades of world-class Pinot Noir, they’ve sneakily pivoted into the high-end Cabernet Sauvignon game – crafting a full seven 2021 vintage Cabernets with scores of 95+ POINTS – including this epic magnum!

These are from some of the top sights in Napa and Sonoma, too – including Rutherford’s Beckstoffer Georges III, Stagecoach, Monte Rosso, Oakville Ranch, and more! This particular Cabernet Sauvignon is based mostly on Oakville Ranch, plus two little parcels just down the slope in eastern Oakville – not far from Turnbull’s Fortuna vineyard. The mountainous loam and volcanic rocks from Oakville Ranch give this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon its concentration and depth, while the other plots from further up north on the alluvial valley floor soils of eastern Oakville give this a juicy, blue-fruited character, and add a softness that allows for prime drinking even young. The revered conditions of the 2021 vintage for Napa Valley – and particularly for Cabernet Sauvignon – make this a wonder that far outpaces the winery price of nearly $200. But to have this for far less – at the stunning price of just $129.95...well, that certainly makes for one of the most tempting MAGNUM deals you’ll find on any Oakville Cab anytime, anywhere!

The wine purrs with berries and plums, violets and hibiscus, and is grounded with earthy notes of tobacco, saddle leather, and white truffles. The characteristic vibrant acidity of 2021 gives this a fresh lift, granting an austere elegance that ensures this wine will live on across the years – and as we’re offering a special shipping included rate on purchases of just two magnums – you’d be wise to get enough to make it last!

PAIRING IDEAS: Roasted duck breast with a sherry and red wine reduction and some quickly braised mustard greens is a heavenly pairing with this.

About The Producer

Sojourn Cellars began in 2001 as a collaboration between two tennis friends, Craig Haserot and Erich Bradley, who shared a passion for two things: great wine and tennis. With Erich's experience as an Assistant Winemaker at Arrowood Winery, the two developed a plan to produce small bottlings of Cabernet Sauvignon from extraordinary vineyard sources. Today they produce 21 unique wines and have customers worldwide. What began as a personal journey has evolved into a first-class boutique winery that crafts high-quality artisan Pinot noir, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon wines.
