Elegant and fully mature, the 2009 vintage offers notes of dried black fruit, leather, cedar, and a touch of savory earthiness. The tannins have softened beautifully, creating a smooth, harmonious mouthfeel with lingering complexity. This magnum showcases how well Maze’s wines can age, offering a refined and expressive Napa Cabernet at its peak.

About The Producer

Maze Wines is a boutique Napa Valley winery founded in 2009 by Gerry and Paul McSharry, a father-and-son team originally from Ireland. Their journey began with a passion for fine wines, leading them to establish a wine importation business in Ireland before venturing into winemaking in California. In Napa, they partnered with renowned winemaker Mark Herold to craft their inaugural vintage of Maze Cabernet Sauvignon, producing just 220 cases. Since then, Maze Wines has expanded its portfolio to include a single-vineyard Sauvignon Blanc from Knights Valley and the limited-production CLEW Cabernet Sauvignon from Coombsville. In 2017, esteemed winemaker Mike Hirby joined as a consultant, further enhancing the winery's commitment to quality. Maze Wines continues to produce small-lot, terroir-driven wines, sourcing fruit from esteemed vineyards like Stagecoach, and remains dedicated to crafting exceptional Napa Valley wines through meticulous attention to detail and collaboration with top-tier winemaking talent.
