The 2021 Domaine Georges Lignier & Fils Bonnes Mares Grand Cru is a distinguished Pinot Noir from a 0.28-hectare parcel planted in 1920, situated on the high slopes of the Bonnes Mares vineyard, which straddles the border between Morey-Saint-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny. This vintage is noted for its aromatic finesse and spice-laden profile, with an ultra-concentrated old-vine fruit character carried along on waves of silk, embodying both gentleness and grace.

About The Producer

?Domaine Georges Lignier & Fils, established in the early 20th century in Morey-Saint-Denis, Burgundy, is a family-run estate currently led by Benoît Stehly, nephew of Georges Lignier, who took over in 2008 after working alongside his uncle since 2002. The domaine spans 16 hectares across 17 appellations, including significant holdings in Grand Cru vineyards such as Clos Saint-Denis, where they are the largest proprietor with 1.49 hectares, Clos de la Roche, and Bonnes-Mares. With an average vine age exceeding 50 years, the estate emphasizes traditional winemaking techniques aimed at achieving maximum aromatic concentration. This includes practices like a slightly later harvest and 80% destemming. Their wines are known for their delicate, subtle, and seductive qualities, offering a distinct contrast to the more intense and structured wines of cousin Hubert Lignier. ?
