About The Producer
Akabu Brewery, a rising star in Japan’s sake industry, is led by its 6th Generation Master Brewer, the young and gifted Ryunosuke Furudate. Fueled by passion and dedication, Furudate and his team pour their hearts into redefining sake production. Founded in 1896, the original brewery faced devastation during the 2011 Tohoku earthquake. However, in 2013, a new chapter began with the construction of a modern facility in Morioka City, marking the rebirth of Akabu in 2014. Despite their youth, this new generation quickly made its mark, earning the Gold Prize at the Annual Japan Sake Awards in 2016 and being named the top sake producer in all of Iwate Prefecture.
