There are no Grand Crus in Meursault – the appellation simply doesn't make them – so Premier Cru sites like Les Charmes carry the weight of being the best the village has to offer.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePierre lets the fruit ferment with wild, native yeast and ages the wine slowly in small 456-liter barrels, two-thirds of them new oak, coaxing out texture without letting the wood take over. The 2020 pours a pale gold and opens with a slightly reductive edge – white flowers, citrus, flint, crushed stone – before settling into the classic Meursault register of honey, lime, hazelnut butter, and a hint of chamomile. On the palate it's silky and round, carried by precision and bright acidity, finishing at length on notes of ripe plum and spiced bread.
