These wines are ready to drink young and offer up supple elegance and vivid red fruits that percolate across the palate. The label of Joseph Paget may be an ongoing question mark, but there’s nothing questionable about this delectable $30 bottle of Burgundy. You need at least a few in your life, and stat.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere are whispers among wine insiders and online forums saying Joseph Paget is actually de-classified Leflaive, and a British importer even faced scrutiny for tying all the Joseph Paget offerings to Leflaive offerings. Leflaive has neither confirmed or denied the allegations – though surely, it could be surmised that they are likely not pleased with such gossip flying to and fro. And so, the question still remains...\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBut regardless of the backstory – or lack thereof – the wine all on its own is sincerely remarkable, especially taking into account its under $30 price. I poured a glass to jot down tasting notes, and ended up taking the bottle home to have with a dinner of roasted salmon with blistered sugar snap peas and caramelized carrots. Utterly fantastic! It’s a lighter, more delicate style of Pinot Noir, swirling with red cherry and raspberry complemented by flowering sage, licorice, and some wild underbrush characteristics. A very easy yes, in my opinion, and one to scoop up in large quantities if you can!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFOOD PAIRINGS: My aforementioned meal of salmon with blistered snap peas and caramelized carrots was divine.
