After running Chateaux Petrus, Christian Moueix was looking for an entryway into \u003cspan class=\"il\"\u003eNapa Valley\u003c\/span\u003e at the same time as John Daniel’s daughters Robin Lail and Marcia Smith took over the \u003cspan class=\"il\"\u003eestate\u003c\/span\u003e in 1982 following his death. The two sisters and Christian partnered up and together built \u003cspan class=\"il\"\u003eDominus\u003c\/span\u003e, releasing their first vintage in 1983.
