Three Sticks Chardonnay One Sky Vineyard 2017 - First Bottle

Reviews

94 Wine Enthusiast -
This is made from the first vineyard farmed organically by the producer and sitting at 1,400-feet in a cool pocket in the appellation. Citrus-driven brightness rules the palate, following by a creamy pear flavor. The oak and tannins are powerful yet integrated.
94 Vinous -
The 2017 Chardonnay One Sky, from Bill Price's Sonoma Mountain vineyard, is striking. Beautifully lifted, precise and nuanced, the 2017 has so much to offer. The 2017 is a wine of pure and total sophistication that seems to capture the breezy, tranquil feel of this site perfectly. Bright saline notes, citrus, almond, sage and dried flowers grace this exquisite Chardonnay from Three Sticks.
91 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
The 2017 Chardonnay One Sky has a nose of toast, baked apples, crushed almonds and spring honey with white flowers and gunflint. The palate is medium-bodied and creamy with a good core of toasty fruits, juicy freshness and a long, honey-tinged finish. 440 cases were made.

And this wine is gorgeous, serious, complex Chardonnay from the cool, breezy 1400 ft site on Sonoma Mountain --- nothing short of astounding considering our price today. Salty citrus fruits, roasted nuts, mouth-watering acidity, whiffs of peach and cinnamon-apple, it’s creamy, yet taut on the palate. A good one to hold for another few years too!

We have about 20 cases...please don’t miss if you love classic, finely-tuned Chardonnay (from Bob Cabral no less!). While it lasts…!

About the Producer

Bill Price purchased the Durell Vineyard in 1998, and launched Three Sticks Wines in 2002. In 2007, he entered the wine business full-stop. Bill owns some of the most prestigious vineyards in California and has access to the best of the best for his own label. He hired none other than Bob Cabral, who worked as winemaker as Williams Selyem for 16 years.
