Maison De Partage Chambolle Musigny 1999

Pinot Noir  |  France

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!

An incredible find! Selected by Nicolas Potel, from the cellars of Louis Remy (more info below), specifically for Michelin two-star restaurant SAISON here in San Francisco. Another very rare wine we would normally NEVER have access to. Incredible juice! Burgundy lovers, this is a super cool score -- great price and story! Trust your wine merchant -- you’ll be one of the few people on earth to have this in your cellar. Before recent events, the ONLY chance you had to drink these specially-selected wines (by Nicolas Potel, no less!) was AT the restaurant, a 3 Star that took months to even GET a reservation.

Now, we’ve been slinging fine wine for a LOT of years. A friend of a friend hooked us up with the restaurant's private label, “Maison de Partage”. We tasted quite a few separate bottlings and THIS one was to us the finest wine vis a vis price. 1999! One of my favorite red Burg vintages of the decade. Drinking exquisitely, this WILL hold another decade or so, but truly, why wait?? Get more than you think, because the moment you taste it, you'll wish you had more. Don't be shy about decanting this either, it is very stable and opens up beautifully over the course of a couple hours.

As noted, this label, the wines, were made by Louis Remy (now called Chantal Remy since 2009) and this is a very highly-regarded house, with deep cellars of aged wines. Read more about the history of  Remy HERE. Enter Maison Nicolas Potel, legendary super-negociant, and the partnership with Saison, which has one of the very finest wine lists and savvy somms in the world, and a cool collaboration of hand-picked, older vintage, restaurant-only bottlings ensued. Until today! For reference, Nicolas' negoce label, Roche de Bellene Chambolle VV 1999 sells for about $140+, and while we can't say for sure, it is likely the same juice!

So, back to this delicious, finely-made, almost-at-peak, beautiful Chambolle --- $89.95!! Wild! ONLY found here at First Bottle! Super limited, as you might imagine, but red Burgundy peeps, you gotta check this out! First come, first served…!
