Ample and creamy on the palate, with tremendous depth, the 2016 Barolo Ginestra Casa Mate is super impressive, even in the early going. Next to the Gavarini Chiniera, the Ginestra Casa Mate is a Barolo of textural resonance and volume. Black cherry, plum and a range of balsamic notes infuse the 2016 with tons of character. The is one of the real standouts of the year.

The purity of fruit is phenomenal on the nose with crushed raspberries, flowers, sliced lemons and pink roses. Full body and powerful, racy tannins at the back end, giving drive, intensity and length. Goes on for minutes with such structure and finesse. Drink in 2022, but already irresistible.

About the Producer
The vineyards owned by the Grasso family are the estate's greatest assets. The Elio Grasso Estate, located in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba, has 42 hectares of land of which 24 are forests and meadows that surround the 18 hectares of vineyards, within the World Heritage site.
