Sante Arcangeli Pinot Noir Integrato 2018
Every once in a while, a winery or wine comes along through our tasting gauntlet that is totally, unexpectedly AMAZING. Winemaker/proprietor John Benedetti founded Sante Arcangeli (named after his great-grandfather) after getting hooked on 20-year old Chateauneuf-du-Pape in college. That set him on his career path -- and we’ve been huge fans for the last 3 vintages or so.
Wine Advocate 94!! As noted, these hugely over-deliver normally --- with our deal today you should fill the wine rack -- this is pinot for those who don't want to get knocked over the head, but instead prefer something a bit more intellectual, with a sense of finesse. There is still plenty of flesh here, just very well judged ripeness and acidity. But hey, don’t just take our word for it: “The 2018 Pinot Noir Integrato is a barrel selection aged ten months in 20% new French oak. It's pale to medium ruby with lovely scents of rose petals, strawberry and raspberry preserves, rhubarb, pomegranate and crushed red and black cherries with accents of loam, peppercorn and prosciutto. Medium-bodied, it explodes with red berries flavors and oodles of earthy accents. It has a grainy texture and excellent freshness, finishing long and very flavorful. Yes! 450 cases produced.”
Just...HURRY! We have 30 cases to sell and that’s IT! While it lasts…!
