Williams Selyem Zinfandel Papera 2018 - First Bottle

Reviews

93 Wine Enthusiast -
Tones of orange peel, cranberry and blackberry carry the nose, offering all the brambly elements of the variety. Bold, ripe and cohesive, it retains bright acidity and a nervy feel that lend balance.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
Our last few bottles of the outrageous Zin from Papera Vineyard in Russian River. This is made in tiny quantities and is flat out delicious. So deep and captivating this is like walking through a creek bed of gnarly blackberry bushes with an orange tree overhead. It is surprisingly light on its feet for how ripe it is. Once again a wine that seems to defy physics with its sense of equilibrium, bravo.

About the Producer

In 1979, Burt Williams and Ed Selyem tried their hands at weekend winemaking at Burt’s house in Forestville. They started with Zinfandel grapes grown by the Martinelli family on now legendary Jackass Hill. Burt and Ed sold the winery to pioneering viticulturist and longtime customer John Dyson in 1998. Bob Cabral also took over for Burt as head winemaker.
