Paradigm! 94 points -- priced at $92 on release and only $59.95 today (while it lasts!). The winery had a hidden pallet at the winery that they discovered and we grabbed it with a quickness as we sold truckloads of this over the past 18 months. A HUGE no-brainer from winemaker Heidi Barrett (yes, that Heidi Barrett).
This remains one of our all-time fave Cabs from the legendary Heidi Barrett. A FANTASTIC, no-brainer bargain relative to so many other Napa Cabs (especially today). A Napa Valley classic since the late 80s!!
Did you know this is Heidi Barrett's only continuous client since they began? From her Screaming Eagle days to her current mega-stardom, she has always made this wine in a much more "classic" style that I utterly love. Less super-oak, (still plenty of beautiful French oak, just not over-the-top) some structure, medium-weight, terrific balance...and they age gorgeously (drink the 1994 now, it's killer). A huge must-have every year, in my book. The Paradigm vineyard itself is prime Oakville, surrounded by the likes of Ulysses, Opus One, Missouri Hopper...so much bang for the buck here! If you are a Napa Cab fan and you're not buying this at today's awesome price, we may not be able to help you.

I urge, I insist, I PLEAD that if you love classically structured Napa Cabs (I want you to evoke things like Dunn, Heitz, Mayacamas, old Phelps wines, and so on) --- this is a MUST-BUY. 2014 to boot, which has an excellent, ultra-fine fruit profile that will drink well early but will also cellar like a champ! Trust your wizened old Napa Valley wine merchant!

About the Producer
Owned and managed by Ren and Marilyn Harris, two winegrowers with extraordinarily deep roots in Napa Valley. Marilyn's grandparents immigrated from Italy to Napa Valley in 1890, while Ren's family came to California in 1769. Marilyn and Ren moved to Napa Valley in the 1960's and settled into their home just east of where Paradigm sits today. Paradigm consists of four contiguous parcels totaling fifty acres in the heart of Oakville. Heidi Barrett is the consulting winemaker and in today's Napa Cab marketplace, this remains one of the finest values that we know of.
