Veuve Clicquot Brut Rose 2008 - First Bottle

Reviews

97 Gilbert & Gaillard -
Coppery orange-pink. The nose is shy on first pour then delivers delicate red fruit, dried fruit and mild spice notes after swirling. Fleshy attack, fine bubbles and superb freshness. A tense, elegant rosé. Hugely successful, almost a foregone conclusion.
93 Wine Spectator -
A well-cut, minerally version, with a firm backbone of acidity and a lacy mousse, layered with flavors of baked currant, toast and lemon curd. Offers a racy, spiced finish. Disgorged January 2016. Drink now through 2028.
92 Wine Enthusiast -
With an attractive touch of toastiness on this ripe wine, this is balanced and very ready to drink. In the house style, it is rich with a comparatively high dosage that gives it a soft character. Plenty of acidity and hints of red fruits provide a vibrant contrast. It is ready to drink.

Veuve Clicquot Brut Rose 2008

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!

Savvy Champagne buyers know how good the ‘08 Rose is. We have a fantastic price today...we only wish we had more! While it lasts…!

“One of the best two vintages of this decade.” - Decanter

Veuve vintage Rose has its own cult following within the Champagne-geek world, and if you’re in that category (or want to check it out!), there is no better moment than NOW. This possesses immense power with a red fruited vinosity that is counterpointed by all the piercing freshness from the incredible 2008 vintage. This is simply stunning and we imagine this is only going to get better with a few more years in the bottle! We scored a luscious, lovely price on this wine and we bought every bottle could (not enough!).

This has a 97-point score from the respected Gilbert & Gaillard Guide (less known here but extremely important in France), saying: “Coppery orange-pink. The nose is shy on first pour then delivers delicate red fruit, dried fruit and mild spice notes after swirling. Fleshy attack, fine bubbles and superb freshness. A tense, elegant rosé. Hugely successful, almost a foregone conclusion.”

What can we say? A tremendous deal on a classic that will sell out in a flash. First come, first served…!
